An approach that offers a new artistic perspective.
Alongside other potentially significant cultural gains, the South Down Project also offers the possibility of an art gallery area with a new and innovative approach.
We are in early discussions with a number of interested parties who would like to see the development of a gallery complex that could accommodate the following:
The best in International Art, with curated shows that featured works associated with institutions such as The Jerwood Collection, Palant House, The Arts Council and other such bodies. We are in discussion with curators advisors and International Gallery Directors to assess and progress this ambition.
The best in high-end retail Art, with works available to purchase that range from the locally and internationally famous such as Frank Brangwyn and Eric Gill, to artists such as Nash, Ravilious, Hockney, Picasso and Rembrandt. We are in discussion with one of the UK’s most significant gallery owners, and owner of some of the world’s largest print collections, to realise this ambition.
The best in local Art, with shows that give local artists, craftsman and makers, the opportunity to exhibit their work in world-class surroundings. We are in discussion with a number of societies and organisations to realise this ambition
An Art Gallery that combines the best of international, regional and local visual arts
